About Fake Oasis

Why “Fake” Oasis?

The “Fake” in Fake Oasis is a wink to founder Rachelle’s gaming handle, FakeCrazyAna. When “official,” “original,” “real,” and “authentic” were everywhere in social media names, her response was: “I’m gonna be the fake one then!”

That playful choice was a way of stepping away from the pressure to prove yourself with a title. It became part of what Fake Oasis stands for: come as you are. You don’t need to perform here.

Shopping & orders

Do you sell authentic cards or custom printed cards?

Both. Authentic copies and custom prints are clearly labelled.

  • MTG Singles contains authentic Magic: The Gathering cards, listed by printing, finish and condition.
  • The Card Builder lets you choose custom prints, authentic copies in stock, or a mix of both.

Custom prints are for casual play, playtesting and personal projects. They are not authentic trading cards.

How do I place an order?

For authentic cards, browse MTG Singles, choose the printing and condition, and add the available quantity to your cart.

For custom prints or a mix of authentic cards and prints, open the Card Builder. Choose your cards, use Pick Art for artwork and available authentic copies, then review your order and total.

Printing a full deck? Go straight to deck bundles or Tiny Chaos. Printing & prices compares the options.

How do prices, conditions, and stock work for authentic singles?

Each exact printing, finish and condition has its own price and stock. Near Mint and Lightly Played are separate listings.

Use the catalogue filters to choose a condition and see cards in stock. In the card builder, open Pick Art to see available authentic copies beside the printing and choose one directly.

Prices and available quantities are checked again when you prepare your cart. A missing price does not mean a card is free.

What does the rainbow effect on a foil card image mean?

The rainbow overlay helps you spot foil listings while browsing. It is a visual guide to the finish, not a photograph of that specific card’s reflection.

Check the listed finish and condition before ordering. You can zoom the product image to view the artwork without the overlay.

What about prices, GST and the $10 welcome credit?

Authentic singles are priced on their catalogue and product listings. Custom printing prices and quantity tiers are shown on Printing Services and calculated in the builder.

Store prices are in Canadian dollars. Available tracked shipping services and their prices are shown at checkout.

No GST is added to your order. This applies to all customers, separately from our first-100-customer store credit offer.

Our first 100 customers receive $10 CAD in store credit after their first completed purchase, to use toward their next purchase. The credit is added to your shop account after that purchase; it is not a discount on your first order.

If you have a question about your credit, get in touch and we’ll help.

How does hybrid pricing work?

Use the Card Builder to choose authentic copies, custom prints, or both. Adding any authentic card of any value to the same order unlocks $1 CAD regular / $2 CAD foil pricing on Standard- and Japanese-size individual prints, with no minimum print quantity.

Eligible prints already in your cart switch to hybrid pricing when you add an authentic card through the shop. Removing the last authentic restores regular quantity pricing; review the updated total before checkout.

European Mini individual prints, Tiny Chaos and deck bundles keep their own pricing. A discounted hybrid print order must include an authentic card at checkout.

Can I change or cancel my order after checkout?

Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of checkout. Contact Fake Oasis as soon as possible if you need to cancel or request a change.

After the 24-hour cancellation period, cancellation cannot be guaranteed because work on your custom order may have begun. Requested changes may also affect the price or estimated completion date.

My Decks beta

What can I do in My Decks beta?

Your next questionable combo deserves a home. My Decks helps you:

  • Build and organise: add single cards, import a decklist, choose artwork, adjust quantities, and organise roles and categories.
  • Explore: review recommendations, synergy notes, deck statistics, and tokens linked to your cards.
  • Make a plan: keep private notes and deck tags, and highlight combo pieces.
  • Track and share: record owned, proxied, and ordered copies, and optionally share a read-only deck link.

It’s in beta, so tell us what would make your next brew easier.

Do I need an account, and where are my decks saved?

Yes. Sign in or create a Fake Oasis customer account to build and save your decks. Saved decks are linked to that account, so use the same sign-in when returning on another device.

Check that your deck has saved before leaving. Notes and tags use Save notes, and manual combo highlights use Save highlight separately. An unsaved draft is not a saved copy.

Keep one editing session open at a time. If you return on another device, load the saved deck before making changes.

Can I import, export, or pick different card artwork?

Use Add cards to search for individual cards. Importing a whole deck is optional: open Deck tools → Import decklist to use a supported public Moxfield or Archidekt link or paste a card list. Review any unmatched cards before saving.

Click a card’s image to open Pick Art and choose an available printing. Deck tools → Export deck offers plain text for other deck builders, CSV with tracking counts, and a JSON deck-data backup. See the backup answer below for what each download keeps.

What is included in a deck backup?

The JSON deck-data backup keeps your deck name and format, cards and quantities, selected printings, roles, categories, cover choice, and copy-tracking counts. You can restore it as a new deck in My Decks.

It does not include notebook notes, deck tags, or manual combo highlights. Open Notes → Download notes to keep a separate text copy of your notes and tags. Manual combo highlights need to be marked again on a restored copy.

Plain text exports your card list for other deck builders. CSV includes card details and tracking counts. Neither includes your notebook or manual highlights.

Can I keep notes and highlight combo pieces?

Absolutely. Open Notes to jot down win conditions, cards to test, or that brilliant idea you had halfway through a game. Add deck tags to remember the plan, then choose Save notes. Notes and tags stay private even when you share the deck.

Known combinations can be highlighted automatically using Commander Spellbook. You can also open a card’s Organize card menu, choose Mark as combo piece or Hide combo highlight, then select Save highlight. Your manual highlights stay private.

Check the linked prerequisites and steps for detected combinations. A highlight is a useful clue, not a guarantee that a combo works in every situation.

Do format checks and Commander brackets guarantee my deck is legal?

No. My Decks provides checks and analysis for the selected format, and Commander bracket guidance where applicable. Resolve any flagged or unmatched cards before relying on the results.

A suggested bracket is a guide, not a definitive power rating. Deck intent, combinations, and how your group plays all matter. Confirm expectations with your playgroup or event organiser; a deck check does not make custom printed cards eligible for an event.

What do Owned, Proxied, and Ordered mean?

Owned records authentic copies you have, Proxied records printed or proxy copies, and Ordered records copies you are waiting for.

These are manual counts for this deck. Update them as cards arrive or your plans change. A shop order does not automatically update them yet.

Is a public nickname required?

Open Your Oasis, enter your public nickname in Player profile, and select Save. Your greeting will use it right away. Leave the field blank and save to return to a first-name greeting.

Your nickname is separate from your billing and shipping details. Choosing one does not make your decks public.

Can I share a link to my deck?

Yes. Your decks start private. Open a saved deck, choose Share deck, then Enable read-only sharing and copy the link. Anyone with that link can view the deck without editing it. Later saved changes appear at the same link.

Your commander, mainboard, and sideboard are shared. Notes, deck tags, manual combo highlights, copy-tracking counts, and Considering cards stay private.

Choose Turn off sharing to disable the link. Visitors cannot save a copy into their own My Decks account yet.

What is the difference between archiving and deleting a deck?

Archive deck puts a deck aside so you can return to it later. Archived decks do not expire.

Delete deck moves it to Deleted decks for 30 days. You can restore the saved cards, notes, tags, and manual highlights before the recovery deadline shown there. After that deadline, recovery is unavailable and the deck is permanently removed.

Deleting a deck disables its shared link. Restoring the deck does not turn sharing back on; enable it again only when you want to share.

Custom printing & artwork

Can I print a deck from My Decks or another deck builder?

Yes. Open a saved deck in My Decks and select Print / buy. Choose the whole deck or only missing copies, then Open card builder. Your quantities and selected artwork come along for review. Use Track & complete to choose individual cards or include sideboard.

Choose Print a deck bundle for a complete 60-card Standard or 100-card Commander deck. Bundles keep their own pricing. You can also paste a list or import a supported public Moxfield or Archidekt link directly in a builder.

Sending cards to a builder does not change your saved deck or its Owned, Proxied and Ordered counts. Those remain manual.

Can I choose the exact artwork or printing?

Yes. Open Pick Art on a card to choose an official printing or matching approved Artist Library artwork. Available authentic copies show their condition, price and stock, with a direct Choose authentic button.

Use Custom Upload for your own print-ready files. Custom artwork is printed as your selected design; it is not an authentic copy of the card.

What sizes can you print?

Fake Oasis currently offers:

  • Standard
  • Japanese
  • European Mini

Available finishes and product options may vary by size.

What custom printing finishes are available?

Fake Oasis currently offers:

  • Regular
  • Rainbow Foil
  • Surge Foil

Finish availability may vary depending on the selected card size or product. Because foil effects respond differently to each design and lighting environment, their finished appearance may vary slightly from the on-screen preview.

What is printed on the back of custom cards?

A Fake Oasis branded back is included and selected by default. A completely blank back is available at no additional cost, and compatible custom-back options can be selected in the builder.

We do not reproduce official game backs, authenticity marks, or official product identifiers. Counterfeit attempts will result in cancellation of the order.

How are double-sided custom prints handled?

A double-sided card is charged as one ordered card but produced as two separate physical cards at no additional cost.

For example, ordering one Glasspool Mimic // Glasspool Shore produces:

  • One physical card featuring Glasspool Mimic
  • One physical card featuring Glasspool Shore

The selected back option is applied to both physical cards.

Can I upload my own artwork?

Yes. Custom artwork can be uploaded through the Card Builder.

By submitting artwork, you confirm that you have permission to use it for the requested order. Custom uploads are used only to prepare and fulfil your order—they are not automatically added to the public Fake Oasis Artist Library.

Can you print cards for D&D and other tabletop games?

Absolutely. Spell hoarders, loot goblins, and DMs with a suspiciously calm smile are welcome here. We offer custom spell cards, item cards, character references, and other cards for D&D, tabletop RPGs, and your own game ideas.

Our player kits and DM Toolkit are coming soon. Peek at the upcoming kits and prices.

For custom printing now, bring your own print-ready designs or artwork you have permission to use. Use Custom Uploads in the Card Builder, or tell us about your project. You supply the adventure content; we supply the printed cards.

Will printed colours look exactly like my screen?

Screens and printers reproduce colours differently. Minor variations in colour, brightness, placement, cutting, and foil appearance are normal and do not necessarily indicate a defect.

Can I use custom printed cards at events?

Custom prints are intended for casual play and testing. Check with your playgroup or event organiser before using them.

Authentic singles are labelled separately from custom prints, even in a mixed order. An authentic card must still meet the rules of the format and event you’re playing.

Order timing

How long does custom printing take?

Most custom orders are ready within 3–5 business days after the 24-hour cancellation window has ended and payment, files, and any required approvals are confirmed.

Larger orders, foil cards, or designs needing extra help may take 5–7 business days. We’ll confirm your estimated completion date after reviewing your order.

Shipping time is additional.

When does my estimated completion time start?

The clock starts after your 24-hour cancellation window has ended and we have confirmed your payment, files, and any required approvals.

We’ll let you know if anything is missing or needs your attention. Time spent waiting for files, artwork confirmation, or your approval is not included in the estimate.

Do you accept large orders?

Yes. Large and full-deck orders are welcome.

Orders involving a particularly high quantity, multiple finishes, extensive file preparation, or additional design work may receive a customized completion estimate after review.

Can my order be ready for a specific date?

Contact Fake Oasis before ordering if you have a deadline. We’ll check whether we can meet it. Faster turnaround is not guaranteed.

Pickup & shipping

What fulfilment options are available?

Free pickup is available in Calgary and Saskatoon. Local delivery is available within the supported Calgary delivery area. Choose your delivery option at checkout, where the available tracked shipping services and their different prices are shown.

For Saskatoon pickup, orders placed before Wednesday night can be ready the following weekend, depending on order size. Wait for your pickup confirmation before coming to collect your order.

Allow for shipping or delivery time after your order is ready.

Do you offer lettermail or a flat shipping price?

Lettermail is not offered. Choose from the available tracked shipping services at checkout; the options have different prices.

For custom printed items, allow for shipping time after your order is ready.

How does free Saskatoon pickup work?

Place your order before Wednesday night for possible pickup the following weekend, depending on the size of your order.

Wait for your pickup confirmation before collecting your order. If you have a specific deadline or a large order, contact us first so we can confirm timing.

What if my order arrives damaged or contains an error?

Contact Fake Oasis as soon as possible with your order number and clear photographs showing the issue.

If an order arrives damaged or contains a verified error on our part, we’ll review the issue and arrange an appropriate resolution.

Can custom cards be returned?

Because custom cards are made to your chosen artwork, size, finish, and back options, they generally cannot be returned because of a preference change.

This does not affect the review of orders that arrive damaged or contain a verified error on our part.

Artists & community

What is the Fake Oasis Artist Library?

The FO Artist Library is a curated collection of artwork created by independent artists and shared with the Fake Oasis community.

Approved artwork will be displayed on the FO Artist Library page and made available as an artwork option in the Card Builder. Artists will be credited using their chosen public display name.

How can I submit my artwork?

Open Artist Studio in Your Oasis to sign in, upload artwork and follow its review status. You can also reach the studio from the Artist Library.

Submissions are reviewed for quality, suitability and usage rights before publication. Credit and any applicable licensing or compensation terms are agreed before accepted artwork is published.

Will every submission be accepted?

No. Submitting artwork does not guarantee acceptance. Fake Oasis reviews each submission before deciding whether it is suitable for the library.

Do artists retain ownership of their artwork?

Yes. Artists retain ownership of their original artwork unless a separate written agreement specifically states otherwise.

Accepted artists grant Fake Oasis permission to display and use their artwork according to the licensing terms agreed upon before publication.

How are artists credited?

Each approved artwork will display the artist’s chosen public display name. Additional portfolio or social links may also be shown where applicable.

Where can I follow new releases and shop updates?

Follow Fake Oasis on Facebook for updates, new additions, and beta news. Recent posts also appear in Latest Updates on the homepage when the feed is available.

D&D “Fill Your Slots” bundles, Complete Your Deck, The Nest, and The Grid are upcoming projects. Their pages will show what is available as each one develops.
